The spambots seem to pick the names randomly as I often see all sorts of names in the greeting (even a Mr.murdoch in there today).
I was scanning through my Gmail spam folder to see if anything had been misclassified when something caught my eye. One of the unsolicited emails used the greeting "Mr.muskie". I found it amusing because I'm often referred to as muskie in the chatterbox at perl monks.
